Han pasado más de 3 horas de que concluí la grabación de la segunda emisión de El Círculo Beatle y el insomnio me tiene totalmente en su manos. Son las 3 de la mañana del jueves 1 de mayo y yo estoy fresca como lechuga.
Y como a mí me gusta ser productiva, aún a la mitad de la noche (je... no en lo que yo quisiera, realmente :D), aprovecho estos momentos de paz nocturna para platicarles un poco de esta canción compuesta por Richard Starkey (el mismísimo Ringo Starr), Mark Hudson y Gary Nicholson cuyo título en inglés es Never Without You.
Never Without You es el homenaje que Ringo realizó en honor a George Harrison un año después de su muerte, a finales de noviembre de 2001, y que fue incluida en el álbum Ringo Rama que salió al mercado el 24 de marzo de 2003.

Ringo, nada tonto, no olvidó incluir en la letra de la canción cuatro referencias directas a las canciones de George:
- Within You Without You - del álbum Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
- Here Comes The Sun - del álbum Abbey Road
- I Dig Love - del álbum All Things Must Pass
- All Things Must Pass - del álbum homónimo.
Mención aparte merecen las palabras "Here Today", justo el título de la canción que Paul McCartney le dedicó a John Lennon en su álbum Tug Of War de 1982. Si esto fue coincidencia o no (dudo que lo sea), Ringo supo aprovecharse bien de su gran carisma y del dolor que generó en los beatlefans del mundo la partida de George y, de paso, la de John. Lástima que ahora, 5 años después, Ringo se olvidó de su carisma y de su fama de ser el Beatle más accesible y dejó de ser popular en Inglaterra (en particular, en su propia ciudad). Ojalá se ponga las pilas el buen Ringo y regrese a su ciudad natal para resarcir su imagen ante sus co-ciudadanos.
Por lo pronto, les dejo aquí el video de esta canción en donde no sale el gran Eric Clapton a pesar de que haber participado en la grabación de la rola del álbum. ¿Qué más se puede pedir?
